Mama’s Way is Woon Kitchen’s bottled version of the way Mama Fong taught her kids to eat noodles growing up:  chili, garlic, and a generous hit of vinegar. Fermented Fresno peppers give it a bright, medium heat while garlic brings the savory depth and vinegar cuts through anything rich enough to need rescuing. It was originally developed for Woon’s noodles, but restricting it to noodles would require considerably more discipline than most of us possess. About the Brand:  Woon

Woon began with the food Mama Fong cooked for her family and the increasingly large number of friends who figured out they should probably be around when she did. Her Shanghainese and Cantonese-inspired home cooking eventually went from family dinners to Los Angeles pop-ups and, in 2019, a permanent Woon Kitchen in Historic Filipinotown. Today, Woon is still built around Mama Fong’s recipes and the wonderfully unfashionable idea that the best food often comes from somebody’s mom making the thing she’s made a thousand times.
