The Wave Studs from Tilly Doro take one of nature’s least cooperative forms and reduce it to a single inch of gold. Each earring begins in wax, shaped by hand into a loose rise and fall before being cast in recycled metal and finished in 24k gold plate. There’s enough of a curve to suggest water, but not so much that you’re walking around with tiny illustrations of the Pacific attached to your ears. Mostly, they’re just beautiful little abstract forms with the slight irregularity that comes from somebody actually making them.Somewhere between recognizable and abstract is usually where things get interesting.

About the Brand: Tilly Doro
Tilly Doro began with founder Nogah Rotstein’s grandmother Tilly, who believed nothing should be wasted and that the best gifts were the ones somebody actually made. Rotstein took that philosophy rather literally, transforming recycled metals, deadstock, and repurposed materials into jewelry shaped by nature, old symbols, asymmetry, and the occasional happy accident. Turns out “waste not” is also a pretty good design philosophy.
