Viridi Herbis Botanical Candle

Basil has spent most of human history being put in dinner. This candle had other plans.

Viridi Herbis, Latin for “green herbs,” combines steam-distilled essential oils of basil, geranium, and white thyme into a fragrance inspired by foggy, dewy mornings in a greenhouse. Basil brings the green, peppery edge; geranium adds something softer and more floral; and white thyme settles underneath with an earthy warmth. The result smells remarkably alive, like someone opened a window somewhere with considerably better plants. Hand-poured in Los Angeles using sustainable coconut wax and a cotton wick, Viridi Herbis contains no synthetic fragrance. It also became the signature scent of the former NoMad Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, which is quite a résumé for a collection of herbs.
