The distance between truck upholstery and a really good coat is mostly a matter of imagination.
PUEBCO’s Truck Seat Fabric Collared Coat started with a textile designed for an entirely different commute. After spotting the richly colored upholstery fabrics used as truck-seat covers in India, PUEBCO did what PUEBCO tends to do: ignored the material’s original job and gave it a better one. The substantial woven fabric becomes an oversized, unisex coat with a long silhouette, bold color, and enough texture to make whatever you’re wearing underneath considerably less important. Patterns and colors vary from piece to piece, which feels appropriate for a coat whose entire existence depends on refusing to be standardized. Throw it over denim, sweats, or something considerably more deliberate. The coat already has enough personality for both of you.

PUEBCO has a habit of looking at things the rest of us have finished with and deciding they aren't finished yet. Founded in Japan in 2007, PUEBCO works with salvaged, recycled, and repurposed materials, including military tents, old uniforms, mail bags, truck upholstery, parachutes, and industrial fabrics, turning them into bags, clothing, rugs, storage, and objects for the home. Pieces are produced in small batches, and the quirks of the original materials are often left visible rather than engineered away. The result isn't sustainability disguised as pristine newness. Things look reused, reconsidered, occasionally imperfect, and considerably more interesting because of it.
