Thallo Handmade Ceramic Mixing Vessel

There are bowls you need. And then there are tiny, beautiful bowls that make an oddly persuasive case for themselves.

Thallo was created by KLEOS+KLEA for mixing their water-activated botanical powders, giving the few seconds between powder and skincare considerably more ceremony. Its sculptural shape nestles into the palm while a textured interior makes it particularly good for combining powders, oils, clays, and botanicals. But its job description is entirely negotiable. Use it to mix a face mask, hold a few rings by the sink, catch the earrings you take off before bed, or simply leave it sitting somewhere looking like the tiny piece of Portuguese pottery it is. Each vessel is made from locally sourced clay in a family-owned Portuguese studio, with several steps completed by hand, so subtle differences in color and finish are part of the deal. Is a dedicated skincare bowl necessary? Almost certainly not. But neither are most of the objects that make daily life noticeably nicer. And also, what happens after it arrives at your house is really between you and the bowl.

About the Brand:  KLEOS+KLEA

KLEOS+KLEA started with founder Tammy Demos questioning something the beauty industry doesn't particularly enjoy questioning:  what if adding more isn't actually making our skin better? After decades working in clean skincare, Demos turned toward whole plants and naturally occurring nutrients rather than building formulas around whichever isolated active ingredient currently has the best publicist. The resulting line treats skin a little more like the rest of the body, feeding it minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, and plant compounds through a deliberately concise four-step ritual. It's less about finding the next miracle ingredient and more about the fairly sensible possibility that skin, like humans, probably does better with a balanced diet.
