There are approximately a thousand things you could put in this bag, which is good because you’re eventually going to put all of them in it.

PUEBCO’s Recycled Plastic Stripe Bag takes its cues from the enormous woven storage bags the brand spotted hauling goods through the Mumbai airport, then shrinks the idea into something considerably more useful for everyday life. Handwoven from recycled plastic in bold, mismatched stripes, it’s lightweight, sturdy, and roomy enough for groceries, beach towels, farmers market overconfidence, car-trip miscellany, or whatever else you weren't planning to carry when you left the house. Aluminum handles wrapped in recycled plastic tubing give the whole thing a satisfyingly industrial finish, while the structured rectangular shape means it can just as easily become storage once it gets home. The colors are unapologetically bright, the handle color is a surprise, and treating either of those things too seriously would probably miss the point. This is a bag designed to carry stuff, it just happens to be considerably more fun than most things designed to carry stuff.

About the Brand:  PUEBCO

PUEBCO has a habit of looking at things the rest of us have finished with and deciding they aren't finished yet. Founded in Japan in 2007, PUEBCO works with salvaged, recycled, and repurposed materials, including military tents, old uniforms, mail bags, truck upholstery, parachutes, and industrial fabrics, turning them into bags, clothing, rugs, storage, and objects for the home. Pieces are produced in small batches, and the quirks of the original materials are often left visible rather than engineered away.  The result isn't sustainability disguised as pristine newness. Things look reused, reconsidered, occasionally imperfect, and considerably more interesting because of it.
