Paradise Natural Gemstone Necklace

Someone had to decide how many different gemstones belonged on one necklace. CanyonLeaf appears to have answered, “Yes.”

Paradise brings together jade, quartz, jasper, agate, citrine, lapis, aventurine, peridot, carnelian, aquamarine, amazonite, amethyst, malachite, and whatever other natural stones make their way into the mix. Which sounds excessive until you see them together. The 5mm rondelle beads turn all that geological chaos into a surprisingly easy strand of color, finished with a 14k gold-filled toggle clasp. No two necklaces will match exactly because natural stone remains stubbornly opposed to uniformity, so the colors, markings, and exact assortment will shift from piece to piece. It’s basically a very small rock collection you can wear to dinner.

CanyonLeaf has built a jewelry company around the fairly reasonable belief that rocks are really interesting. Founded in 2015, the woman-owned studio works with natural gemstones and genuine Baltic amber, sourcing beads from artisans around the world and hand-stringing most of its collection by the sea in Key West, Florida. Because the materials come from nature rather than an extremely obedient factory, colors shift, patterns wander, and one piece rarely looks exactly like the next. Several million years of geology followed by somebody sitting down and making a bracelet feels like an unusually good supply chain.
