Half an inch is apparently enough jewelry to make a difference.
Sheena Marshall’s Moab Arch Threader Earrings reduce the whole operation to one continuous line of polished 14k gold fill. The wire threads directly through the ear and curves into a small open arch, with no clasp, extra hardware, or particularly compelling reason to take them off. At just half an inch, they sit close to the ear and weigh almost nothing, but the unusual shape gives them considerably more presence than their dimensions would suggest. Wear them alone when less feels right, stack them with studs, or pair them with another threader and abandon symmetry altogether. They’re the kind of earrings you put on because they look good and eventually keep wearing because thinking about earrings every morning was never really the goal.

About the Maker: Sheena Marshall
Making simple jewelry is probably harder than making complicated jewelry. There’s nowhere for a bad decision to hide. Sheena Marshall seems comfortable with the risk. From her Denver studio, the designer and metalsmith makes jewelry from little more than lines, curves, circles, and the occasional beautifully considered bend, forming each piece by hand in small batches. Rather than designing jewelry for hypothetical cocktail parties and other events your calendar insists happen far more often than they actually do, Marshall makes pieces for regular Tuesdays: the earrings you leave by the sink, the necklace you put back on after a shower, the ring that eventually feels strange when it isn’t there. Materials are chosen with longevity in mind, including 14k gold fill that offers considerably more actual gold than conventional plating. The designs are quiet, but not anonymous.
