About the Brand:  Marou

Marou began with two Frenchmen, Samuel Maruta and Vincent Mourou, discovering something the rest of the chocolate world had largely overlooked: Vietnam grows extraordinary cacao. They started making chocolate in Saigon using beans sourced directly from farmers throughout the country, eventually becoming pioneers of Vietnam’s bean-to-bar movement. Today, Marou makes chocolate that tastes distinctly of where it comes from, pairing Vietnamese cacao with ingredients and flavors rooted in the culture around it. The result feels less like somebody imported an idea of fine chocolate into Vietnam and more like Vietnam decided what fine chocolate should taste like.
