Minga’s La Vida Rancher is crafted from 100% Ecuadorian sheep’s wool, shaped and pressed by hand into a classic teardrop crown with a wide 3.5-inch brim. A vegetable-tanned leather tie finishes the warm oak wool without making the whole thing feel overly Western. Structured enough to change an outfit, simple enough to wear with almost anything, and made from natural wool that works across seasons. Which is a lot of responsibility for something that mostly sits on your head.

About the Brand:  Minga

Making a hat by hand is the sort of skill that becomes considerably more impressive once you realize somebody had to teach you how. Minga works with multigenerational artisan families in Ecuador, pairing traditional hat-making, weaving, leatherwork, and other inherited craft techniques with contemporary design. The result keeps old skills doing something particularly useful:  making things people still want to wear.
