'Notes' Handmade Paper Notebook

We have never had more places to record our thoughts, which somehow makes putting one on actual paper feel almost rebellious.

The “Notes” Notebook by Farmette is for grocery lists, half-formed ideas, things you need to remember, and the occasional thought that seems important enough not to disappear into the Notes app forever. Its oak-green cover is handmade and plant-dyed in Farmette's California studio, then individually letterpress printed and tied with botanically dyed silk ribbon. Inside are handmade white paper pages crafted by artisans in India. At just over five inches tall, it's small enough to keep nearby, beautiful enough to leave sitting out, and tactile enough to make writing something down feel like an act rather than an administrative task.

About the Brand:  Farmette

Farmette is what happens when slowing down becomes a manufacturing philosophy. Founded by Loren Profit Smith in 2017, the California paper and letterpress studio makes its goods largely by hand, from transforming natural fibers into deckle-edged sheets and coloring them with botanical dyes to feeding each piece individually through antique letterpresses. The process is wonderfully inefficient by modern standards, which is precisely what makes it special. Farmette creates paper goods meant to make writing, giving, and connecting feel a little more deliberate in a world that has gotten remarkably good at making all three instantaneous.
