Creative Women’s Handblown Carafe Set is made in India from recycled glass, with a warm amber color and hammered texture that catches the light and makes plain water seem considerably more considered than plain water generally expects to be. The tall, slender carafe is topped with a fitted lid that turns out to have a second occupation:  flip it over and it becomes a small drinking glass. Keep the set beside the bed, on a desk, in the guest room, or anywhere having water nearby seems like a good idea but having a plastic bottle nearby does not. Each piece is formed and hammered by hand, so subtle variations in shape, texture, and finish are part of what makes each set its own. It’s a carafe, a glass, and one less thing sitting on the nightstand. Good design occasionally turns out to be subtraction.
