WEKÜKÜ’s Mood takes that intensely green, just-brushed-against-the-plant smell and turns it into something you can have around without committing to an actual vegetable garden. Fresh, leafy, and a little unexpected, tomato leaf gives the fragrance the feeling of crushed stems, warm soil, and plants doing whatever plants do when nobody is paying attention. The candle and diffuser let you choose your level of involvement:  leave the diffuser to quietly change the room in the background, then light the candle when you’d like the whole situation to become slightly more deliberate. And because both come in WEKÜKÜ’s wonderfully odd Big Eye vessels, they look considerably less serious than most things designed to make your house smell sophisticated.

WEKÜKÜ seems suspicious of the idea that useful objects need to behave themselves. This design brand approaches everyday life with a sense of humor, turning candles, diffusers, lighting, ceramics, and other familiar objects into things that are considerably harder to ignore. Its stated goal is to bring art and design closer to daily life, drawing on traditional ideas while making objects feel more playful, colorful, and unexpected.  Which explains the Big Eye collection rather well. You could put fragrance in an anonymous glass cylinder and call it a day. WEKÜKÜ clearly had other plans.
