WEKÜKÜ’s Buddy pairs a candle and diffuser around cassis, the dark, tart blackcurrant note that gives the whole thing its slightly strange personality. The candle starts juicy with red currant, grapefruit, and apricot, then basil, jasmine, and cassis pull it somewhere greener before clove and sandalwood warm things up underneath. The diffuser takes a simpler route, letting cassis mingle with rose and a soft mossy base. Together, they’re fruity, floral, green, and just odd enough to keep you wondering what exactly you’re smelling. Its stated goal is to bring art and design closer to daily life, drawing on traditional ideas while making objects feel more playful, colorful, and unexpected.  Which explains the Big Eye collection rather well. You could put fragrance in an anonymous glass cylinder and call it a day. WEKÜKÜ clearly had other plans.
