All Are Welcome (an All Are Welcome Book) | Board Book

A fairly convincing argument that there should always be room for one more.

All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman follows a group of kids through an ordinary school day in a place where different families, backgrounds, cultures, traditions, and ways of being are simply part of the room. The rhyming text keeps things accessible for little readers while Kaufman’s wonderfully busy illustrations give them plenty to notice, from what everyone is eating to what they’re wearing and celebrating. There’s a bigger idea underneath all of it, but it’s one children tend to understand faster than adults:  the world gets considerably more interesting when everybody gets to be in it.
