AKATHA skips the foam entirely. Mineral-rich bentonite and kaolin clays combine with real pineapple and papaya enzymes, coconut, grape, goji, gotu kola, camu camu, and other whole botanicals to lift away buildup, gently polish, and leave skin feeling soft rather than suspiciously squeaky. The formula stays completely dry in the jar, so there’s no need for the preservatives and stabilizers that become necessary once water enters the equation. You add that part yourself...seconds before cleansing. Use more water for a silky everyday wash or less when you want something closer to a clay mask. It’s a little more involved than squeezing cleanser from a tube, but only by about five seconds, which seems like a reasonable trade for getting to decide what your face needs that day.

KLEOS+KLEA started with founder Tammy Demos questioning something the beauty industry doesn't particularly enjoy questioning:  what if adding more isn't actually making our skin better?
