There are worse things for your morning routine than smelling vaguely like a Japanese winter.
Summer Solace Tallow builds this cold-processed bar around bright yuzu from northern Japan and grassy sencha green tea from Berkeley’s Asha Teahouse, then adds regenerative tallow, green clay, and E3Live® blue-green algae from Oregon’s Klamath Lake. This is an unusually international itinerary for something that eventually lives next to your shampoo. More importantly, the combination produces a rich, creamy lather that cleanses without leaving skin feeling stripped, with green clay and algae joining the formula and yuzu providing the bright citrus wake-up call. The scent moves between fresh citrus and earthy tea, so it feels invigorating without veering into the olfactory equivalent of someone yelling, "GOOD MORNING!" at you. You get clean, your skin feels comfortable, and for several minutes the day seems unusually well organized.

About the Brand: Summer Solace Tallow
Summer Solace Tallow approaches skincare more like cooking than chemistry. Founder Megan Bre Camp came to body care through food, holistic nutrition, natural perfumery, and a belief that where an ingredient comes from matters almost as much as what it is. Since 2014, she has made small-batch skincare by hand in Oakland using regenerative tallow and thoughtfully sourced regional ingredients, turning something the modern world largely forgot about into something worth reconsidering.
